Kevin T. Nelson

Kevin Nelson is a well-rounded attorney with a background in criminal law, traffic matters, municipal/government law, animal law, and civil litigation. Prior to joining Buzzard O’Rourke, P.S., Kevin served as a Deputy Prosecuting Attorney for Lewis County in both the criminal and civil divisions.  Although Kevin understands that litigation may not not always be the best answer, with experience in more than 30 criminal or civil trials, Kevin is well suited to represent his clients’ interests both in and out of the courtroom. In addition to trial work, Kevin has experience representing clients in administrative hearings and in the court of appeals. He believes in candid and open communication with his clients in order to pursue his client’s objectives and desired outcomes.

Kevin is a native of Lewis County. Following graduation from high school, Kevin attended Centralia Community College, where he received numerous academic awards including selection to the National Dean’s List for Academic Achievement, Admittance to the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society for Academic Achievement, and inclusion on the Centralia College President’s List in recognition of superior scholarship. After graduating from Centralia Community College, Kevin attended St. Martin’s University, where he studied business and continued his academic excellence, graduating with honors. Following Kevin’s undergraduate degree, he attended Lewis and Clark Law School in Portland, Oregon, where he obtained his Juris Doctorate with honors.

Kevin is actively involved in the community.  He is a Board Member of the Centralia Christian School, and has served as a Washington State Precinct Committee Officer for Lewis County, Washington.
