About Marissa

Marissa is an associate attorney at Buzzard O’Rourke. Her practice focuses on a broad variety of legal issues including business, contracts, employment, bankruptcy, probate and estates, and much more.

Marissa is a native of the Pacific Northwest and was born and raised in the greater Pierce County area. After she graduated from Brigham Young University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology she moved to the Twin Cities where she received a Juris Doctor from Mitchell Hamline School of Law. While in law school, she made the Dean’s list for four consecutive semesters and received a CALI Award of Excellence (highest grade in course) in bankruptcy and another in legal reasoning. She also worked for various law firms on different issues including family law, employment law, and business law. After finishing law school, Marissa returned to Washington State to begin her legal career.

As an attorney, Marissa’s aim is to help clients navigate the vast legal system and to do so in a way that is specific and most helpful to each client.  She is adept at considering issues from multiple angles and perspectives.  Marissa believes in the power of serving the community that you live in and those most vulnerable. In her spare time, she enjoys photography, traveling, and spending time with family.

Marissa is admitted to the bar in Washington State and the United States District Court for the Western District of Washington.
